21 Days to Fit Meal Planning w/ the 21 Day Fix


Did you know that 80% of our results for ANY health & wellness program are dependent on what you EAT?! SO CRAZY how important MEAL PLANNING is for our health!! PLEASE don’t undo all your hard work in the kitchen, folks. Stick with me & you'll see just how much this can help!! #1 - FIRST THINGS FIRST, read through your ENTIRE meal plan booklet!! (If you don't have one, CONTACT ME!) You will need to know HOW to use your containers & how to portion correctly & all that MAGIC info is IN there!

#2 - SECOND, start purging a few days before the group (no that doesnt mean EATING all of the junk you have in your house… It means getting all out. Give it away, or toss it but don’t hold onto it or stash it away)! If you have roommates or spouses, ask them to eat healthy WITH you for the coming weeks, if they refuse ask them to HIDE all of their junk or to buy stuff that you wont be tempted by. Its JUST three weeks. They can help you out!! (And after 3 weeks, if you STICK with this, you’ll hardly crave that stuff anymore!) # 3 -THIRD, PLAN!! You NEED to have a PLAN for your meals. WE do MOST of our meal planning on SUNDAYS. We look at what we have in the cupboard, fridge & pantry, pick out some fun new meals we want to try that week & decide which go-tos we are going to rotate & see what things we are out of that we will need to pick up at the store. #4 - GO SHOPPING!! You do NOT want to be LOW on groceries when you start this! That is the EASIEST way to get off track!! You dont want to be stuck without options & tempted by a hungry belly!! Our favorite store & place for ESSENTIALS: COSTCO!! (Here in the PNW, this is a great store that sells some amazing food at wholesale prices and in BULK)! You can get an insane amount of bananas, organic spinach, spaghetti squash, organic zucchini, berries, apples, onions, rice (love the quinoa and brown rice microwavable packets), red potatoes, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, frozen green peas, individually wrapped chicken breasts, salmon, PBFit (powdered peanut butter, organic), baby carrots, & Organic Almond & Coconut Milk (in the canned section! They come in small containers & you can store in your cupboard! WOOT WOOT!)!! For local & in season produce, we typically go to Fred Meyer (because they seem to have the largest selection & best prices for healthy, whole, organic foods), but your local grocery store will do! There, we tend to stock up on brown rice crackers, grapes or other snacky fruits, oatmeal (we get gluten free oats, otherwise we would buy these at Costco, too), oranges, and an assortment of other veggies & fresh herbs (leeks, kale, lemons, limes, tomatoes, cilantro, basil, rosemary, etc.) Also, make sure you know what you are going to be putting in your shake for the week (we use almond and coconut milk, a banana & ice cubes) & make sure you have enough for the week!!

#5 - The FIRST 3 weeks you do this can be tough, it can feel like a LOT to think about as far as food goes, but after about 2 weeks, you will start to feel a LOT more comfortable. Now that we have been doing this meal plan for a year, I am amazed at how much easier and more natural it is!! We follow the meal plan about 90% of the time but have also cut out dairy, gluten and most meats & meat products (NOT required in the meal plan, but definitely something we’ve decided to do for health & other reasons). Its INCREDIBLE knowing exactly what to eat each day and how much and I’ve been amazed to see my body change & get better EVERY MONTH that I stick with the program (the shakes, the workouts & the meal plan). I truly believe this thing is the PERFECT storm as far as health & nutrition goes!! #6 - You should NOT get bored with this meal plan. EVER. Or be insanely hungry. There are an INSANE number of recipes available & we will be posting more & more of our favorites on our blog here soon, too & we will definitely share them with ya!! It can sure help catapult you into living your healthiest & happiest life and I’m so excited to get started on this with you guys!!
