3 Years Ago, She Said YES!

3 years ago today, I got down on one knee and asked this girl to marry me. Thankfully she said yes! Sometime I don’t know why she did, but nevertheless, I’m very blessed.

It was one of the most amazing and memorable evenings we have ever experienced together. From that point on, we have had some pretty major life changes. And as challenging as many of them have been, we’ve learned to work through things together.

Despite what social media can appear to look like, it isn’t always all sunshine and rainbows. Neither of us are perfect. In fact, we have lots of flaws. Well, at leash I do. But we love each other regardless. We’re two different human beings with different personalities and we’re continuously learning how to effectively communicate, serve one another, and meet each other’s needs.

Marriage takes work and I don’t believe we’ll ever ‘arrive’, nor should we. Because when you stop learning and pursuing each other, you stop growing.

I believe it’s the challenges that have made our relationship stronger. We don’t avoid them, we are intentional about making change and improving in areas we lack.

Alyssa, You’re amazing. I learn so much from you. You’re talented in so many ways. You genuinely care about people and are intentional about living with purpose. I’m more attracted to you than ever! I look forward to continuing to grow with you. I love you more today than I ever have and I will always choose to love you. I love being your partner, raising kids together, and adventuring through this short life, while figuring things out as we go. I’ll never give up on us. Thank you for continuing to choose me. Love you always!
